I'm Back!

Hello folks, sorry to be gone so long.  Between work, the addition (now finished) and having to go away for a couple of weeks on a course I've been neglecting my duties here.

The addition is complete!!  Wood stove is in and so is the bar, just a few finishing touches and we're good to go.  I will add some photos of the process and the other projects I'm working on.  Next is planning the out door spaces, great job for those chilly winter nights!

Things are about to get busy again here in January, Piper is expecting her third litter of pups!!  New house, new babies - so exciting

Bye for now

Balleycanoe & Co. - and my new/old bar top

Another stop on my travels - Balleycanoe & Co. is located in rural eastern Ontario.  They carry all sorts of architectural salvage and well just cool stuff!  Look at these fantastic knobs and windows!

I picked up a beautiful counter top, unfortunately just the top but it's almost 10 feet long, 2 feet wide and 2 inches thick!  Made of pine it is one single board, not knots or anything; my plan is once our family room addition is done to build a bar and this will be the top!!

Balleycanoe is open Thursday to Saturday 10-5pm and other times by appointment, stop in and say hi to John and of course Oliver the yellow lab.

RIDEAU FERRY ANTIQUES - Organized Chaos and a Junkers Dream

Another stop on my travels was to Rideau Ferry Antiques which is located 10 km south of Perth, 10 km southwest of Smith Falls and halfway between Lombardy & Rideau Ferry.  For those of you with a GPS - address is 104 Rideau Ferry Rd, Lombardy, Ontario  613-283-6490.  It's run by the Miller brothers who have been antiquing for over 40 years - every inch is jam packed, you almost can't move for all the stuff!!
This place is unbelievable, I have never seen anything like it and if I had my truck instead of a little rental I would have come out of there with as much as I could pack in!!!  I'll be going back for sure!

They have crates and boxes!
The "furniture loft" - warning enter at own risk!!

This is definately going to become one of my frequent favs!  So what can you do with 100 sap buckets?  Any ideas out there?

Bob's Diner and the Old Bastards Vintage Motorcycle Club

Hi everyone, well it's been a while!  Things have been busy, trip to Victoria, BC to go to a wedding and see friends; then immediately after a trip to Ontario to check on the new house.

Had a great time in Ontario and explored the towns around the new house and guess what!!!  Looks like an antique/junker/flea market lovers dream (my husband just holds his head and says oh no..).  So I thought I'd share a couple of places with you over the next couple of blogs.

Bob's Diner
53 King Street, Delta, Ontario
613-928-2016

Bob has 2000 square feet of collectables housed in what once was the old hardware store.  He's open 7 days a week throughout the summer 7am to 9 pm.
If your looking for vintage collectables stop here!  Everything from Coca Cola Trays, pushbars, beer signs, gas station signs, gas pumps, vintage toys and much much more!

Not only can you spend hours looking through the store but you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner too.  If you're there on a Sunday morning  you may be in the company of the guys from Old Bastards Vintage Motorcycle Club, their headquarters is in Delta, Ontario and Bob's is a fav spot for meetings!  Some awesome vintage bikes too!

More cool places coming soon!!

Friends and New Places

Well, it's been a while since I posted - sorry no photos yet.  I've been back and forth to the new house, the current owners have nicely allowed me to have access.  Currently I'm staying with good friends who have been a great in showing me around and giving me pointers.

Can't wait to show you photos of the house in summer!
